On Saturday 21st May from 11am the Sustainability team will be down at Stepney Green Park to take part in the festival fun-day as part of QMUL’s first community festival.
From fun inflatables, demonstrations and give-it-a-go sports, to thought-provoking and hands-on activities, and community organisations running stands and events, there will be something for all at our Festival Fun Day!
The Sustainability team will be bringing our brand new ‘How Bad are Bananas?’ game to get you thinking about your carbon footprint! You’ll get a chocolate if you take part and it’s really fun – we promise! The game is based on the book by Mike Berners-Lee, which looks at carbon footprints of a variety of things – from drying your hands with a paper towel to cycling a mile powered by bacon.
We’ll also have 2 smoothie bikes on the day, which we’ll be inviting you to give a go and pedal for a fresh, healthy smoothie and, as usual, will be talking about the work we do around QMUL as part of Green Mary!
There’ll be lots more going on during the day and will be suitable for the whole family, so come down and get involved!
